My Thoughts for Barr Testimony

I’ll be watching Barr testify and I’ll try to keep you informed in case you can’t watch. Based on Barr’s audition memo, past performances before Congress, Flynn and Stone actions, and his prepared remarks for today, I don’t expect honesty.

He labels what I call protestors “rioters and anarchists.” He still says he is trying to “get to the bottom of the grave abuses involved in the bogus ‘Russiagate’ scandal.” And he claims he is ensuring “that there is one standard of justice that applies to everyone equally” while dismissing  the case against Flynn after he pleaded guilty and reducing Stone’s  sentence and then letting 45 commute it so that Stone serves no time for heinous crimes.

Barr’s opening statement claims he is exercising independent judgment even though everything he has done follows what Trump wants and in it, he compares the death of 8 unarmed black men by police to the deaths of 11 unarmed white men killed by police, suggesting that more whites died at the hands of police while completely ignoring that blacks are 13% of the population and whites are 73%. That means 8 would be comparable to 48, not less than 11.

I hope Congress will ask questions about

  • Flynn and Stone;

  • the revocation of Cohen’s release because he wouldn’t give up his 1st A rights;

  • firing Berman;

  • When and why did he order troops to Lafayette Square

  • Why are federal agents arresting protestors who are not threatening any federal building, including a naked lady and a Navy vet

  • the career prosecutors who left DOJ or who stayed and testified against Barr;

  • his plans for an October surprise and why he is still investigating investigators despite IG report that says they did nothing;

  • what has Durham discovered that justifies his continued investigation

  • what DOJ is doing to protect the November elections and to assure mail-in ballots to protect voters.

And, I hope they ask for details not excuses and pin him down so his answers can be reviewed for perjury.
